Currently studying part-time at Cardiff University LLM for a medico legal degree – Legal Aspects of Medical Practice. 

Mr Zaid Sadiq can accept both adult and paediatric medicolegal instructions in a range of specialist areas for either claimant or defendant.  He has a keen interest in cancer, reconstructive surgery and tissue engineering, as well as providing a spectrum of oral and maxillofacial practice. 

Please note that whilst Mr Sadiq is dual qualified in medicine and dentistry, he is not a practicing dentist and is therefore unable to accept instructions that relate to routine dental treatment.

Mr Zaid Sadiq is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial/Head and Neck Surgeon at the Queen Victoria Hospital prior to which he worked for many years at other leading hospitals including University College London Hospital and Great Ormond Street. 

Mr Sadiq is qualified in both medicine and dentistry. He completed higher surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the London KSS region. He completed a Head and Neck reconstruction fellowship in Edinburgh and is accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.  He is an honorary lecturer at University College London. 

Mr Sadiq has a keen interest in cancer, reconstructive surgery and tissue engineering, as well as providing a spectrum of oral and maxillofacial practice.

Medicolegal issues surrounding consent in dentoalveolar surgery

Failure to obtain proper consent is a common cause of litigation. Given that the number of dentoalveolar surgical procedures is rising, a lack of proper informed consent being obtained from patients is likely to become an increasing issue. 

A medicolegal perspective on the choice of bone graft material for dental implants

Dental implants are now commonly used in patients with missing teeth, giving both functional and aesthetic improvements. However, bone loss can compromise the ideal placement of dental implants and increase the risk of implant failure.

The medicolegal challenges of skin cancer management 

Skin cancer is one of the commonest forms of cancer, currently accounting for around one-third of all cancers annually, and the incidence is rapidly increasing. Fortunately, effective treatments are available and the risks of mortality and other complications associated with most types of skin cancer are extremely low. However, some challenges remain.
